Please join us as we share dinner and stories of climate action. Now is the time to dig even deeper as we collectively confront the climate crisis, and all of us are needed at the table – we hope you can make it. In-person RSVPs are closed, but you can join us for the virtual livestream. 

Our event will kick off with exciting updates from Director of Sustainability Rosi Kerr and Special Advisor to the Provost on Climate and Sustainability Laura Ogden regarding climate action at Dartmouth. Then, we are honored to spotlight four wonderful Dartmouth community members – Professor Bruce Duthu, Professor Erich Osterberg, Solange Acosta-Rodríguez ‘24, and Kate Yeo ‘25 – who will each share stories stemming from their lived experiences that compel them to work for more just, flourishing life on Earth. Professor Bruce Duthu specializes in federal law and policy relating to tribal nations and Indigenous Peoples. Beyond his work at Dartmouth, Professor Duthu has served as co-producer or consultant on several documentary film projects, including the Emmy-award winning documentary feature film, Dawnland. As a law professor at Vermont Law School, Duthu directed the VLS – Sun Yat-sen University (Guangzhou, China) Partnership in Environmental Law. For nearly 18 years, Duthu has served as a Trustee for Earthjustice, the nation’s largest nonprofit environmental law firm.

Professor Erich Osterberg researches how and why the climate has changed, and the trends and sources of air pollution, primarily through data from glacier ice cores. His work is particularly concerned with aspects of climate change that impact communities, including sea-level rise from melting glaciers, and the changing number and intensity of storms. Professor Osterberg also chairs the Upper Valley Adaptation Workgroup, which builds climate resilience by helping communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from climate disruptions.

Solange Acosta-Rodríguez ‘24 is majoring in Geography and Environmental Studies. On campus, she researches with the Energy Justice clinic, is a student worker at Novack Cafe, and leads trips with the Dartmouth Outing Club. After seeing the effects of climate change in her home city of Miami, she now seeks to work collaboratively with communities on issues of water and territorial rights to enact radical environmental justice. 

Kate Yeo ‘25 is deeply passionate about the intersection of climate and social issues. On campus, she helped launch the Dartmouth Reusable Tumbler Initiative and Fossil Free Dartmouth. Outside of school, she co-leads Singapore Youth for Climate Action and has participated in UN climate negotiations including COP27 and COP28.
