ENVS New England Domestic Study Program in 21F

ENVS students are currently on the New England Domestic Study Program that takes place in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

    Our ENVS DSPers have now completed the marine fisheries section of the program. They traveled up and down the Maine coast and to coastal islands to learn about a diversity of fisheries and industries, such as lobstering, shellfish, aquaculture, ground fish, and migratory fish. For their research, they focused on one of Maine's lesser-known, but lucrative fisheries - soft shell clams

  • Maine North Woods

    Arriving in the North Woods of Maine is nothing less than spectacular in the peak of leaf peeping season. Students explored the diverse ways that private and public landowners in Maine have managed and sustained healthy forest ecosystems.

The broad themes of the New England Program are community-based natural resource management and related issues with three "modules": fisheries in coastal Maine, forestry in Maine and northern New Hampshire and agriculture in southern Vermont.
