Dr. Matt Rand: Superfund Research Program Presentation

Dr. Rand is Assistant Professor of Environmental Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Dr. Rand's laboratory investigates the impact of environmental mercury on fundamental mechanisms of neural development. Dr. Rand is engaged in multidiscipline translational studies using genomic studies in fruit flies and human polymorphisms in fish eating populations to delineate factors that dictate susceptibility and tolerance to environmental methylmercury exposure.
